The advantages and disadvantages of two aerosol cans

Author: Bluefire Date: 2025-07-17

The production processes of two-piece aerosol cans and three-piece cans are completely different. The body of the two-piece can is made by stretching, while the body of the three-piece can is welded. This is the main difference.
Similar to the three-piece can, the advantages of the tinplate two-piece can are:
1. The body has no weld seam, making the appearance more beautiful.
2. The two-piece can could support the higher pressure and is suitable for packaging some high-pressure gases;
3. Since there is no weld seam in the body and no top cover, when the pressure inside the can is too high, the pressure will leak from the bottom cover instead of exploding directly, ensuring safety.
Correspondingly, the tinplate two-piece can also have some disadvantages:
1. The stretching process is much slower than the welding process, so the production speed of the two-piece can is very slow, about 1/20 to 1/30 of the speed of the three-piece can. Therefore, if you need a large number of aerosol cans, such as several million or several tens of millions, the two-piece can is difficult to meet your requirement.;
2. Due to the slow production speed and the use of thicker raw materials, the cost of the two-piece can is higher.
With the development and advancement of production techniques, two-piece aerosol cans are also moving towards a lightweight and thin design. Superior quality raw materials can also lead to faster production speeds.
Therefore, we will see that in an increasing number of application scenarios, due to safety considerations, two-piece cans are gradually replacing three-piece cans.
